  • Great Rum Point Location

    • Guest Jerry B. (-)

The property is in one of the older townhouse complexes in Rum Point however the property is in very good condition. Its location is fantastic... literally across the street from the Wreck Bar and the backing on to the cove. It was clean and cool when we arrived and the home is itself is comfortable. It is well equipped with kayaks and paddles, pool & beach toys for the kids, board games and Nintendo wiki as well as TVs and DVD players in every room. The screened in porch came in handy too. For an inexpensive 2 bed property with a fantastic location and a cozy, pleasant, if fairly basic, interior, you can't go wrong with this rental. Adela, the owner, was also great to deal with. Thoroughly recommend and would happily go back.

  • Wonderful Vacation Great Location and all the amenities

    • Guest Colorado (Centennial, CO)

Cloud Nine was ideally located and had all the amenities we needed. The house was clean and had plenty of towels for the bathrooms and the beach. The kids also enjoyed playing Wiki after a day of sun and relaxed to some of the DVD movies available. The kayaks and beach bikes were a fabulous addition to the rental unit as they afforded us so many exploration opportunities. We were at Rum Point after a full moon so we got to experience the bioluminescent bay, a Halloween treat. The north side was, for us, definitely a better choice than the busy side of 7 Mile Beach as it is quiet and a great place to decompress. We enjoyed a nightly dinner on the lanai and spent plenty of hours on the beach chairs or hammocks. Adela was great at corresponding with us both prior to our departure and also during our stay to check in on how we were enjoying our stay. We would definitely recommend Cloud Nine to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car.

  • Paradise Family Vacation

    • Guest Mark D.

We recently stayed five nights at Cloud Nine. It was wonderful. Although the pictures with this listing are beautiful, it was truly amazing in person. This condo was very well maintained and very clean. The pool and glowing bay is a very short walk out the back door. Several nights we took the two person kayaks out and the water really does glow, one the most interesting things I've seen and the kids loved it. I would also recommend taking a boat tour of the bio bay from The Sweet Spot which is a tour and water sport company about a mile down the road. A bit further down the road is Starfish Point. Its about 2 feet deep and many starfish can be found like in her pictures. The beach in the pictures is only about a 30 yard walk out the front door. When you see this clear water and white sand, you will agree it is one of the most beautiful sights ever. At Rum Point Beach they also have a water sports and tour company, a casual dining place called The Wreck which has good food, and a store with T-shirts, gifts, and needed items such as tanning lotion and mosquito spray. They also have a nice sit down restaurant next door. We took a tour from Rum Point to Stingray City and snorkeling. That can not be missed. As other attractions are located on the other side of the island, just plan your days in advance. There are many great places to eat. Our favorite was the Lighthouse and the food was very good. After our submarine trip, we went to Guy Harvey's gallery to buy some shirts. He was actually there painting. He was very nice and signed our shirts and took pictures with us. A note of the owner. One evening on our way to dinner, I locked ourselves out of the condo. I emailed the owner of our problem. She responded promptly and had her cleaner bring us an extra key. By the time we got back from dinner, our key was there. Outstanding service. The bottom line is this condo is very nice, has an owner that is all about having her tenants enjoy a great experience, and you can not go wrong renting this property. I would definitely rent this condo again.

Dreaming away for more of Cloud Nine!

    • Guest Misty C.

Our most amazing vacation! We have traveled to several islands throughout the Caribbean and our new favorite is Grand Cayman. I spent a lot of time researching the island, trying to find the perfect area to stay. Once I decided Rum Point would suit us best, I searched high and low for the most perfect accommodations, and let me tell you that Cloud Nine did not disappoint. From the moment I made the initial contact with (the more then gracious) Adela, I knew we made the right decision. Her love and excitement for the island shows with every email she writes, and the vast knowledge and information she provides will help you plan your perfect vacation. We loved all the snorkeling spots (Smiths Cove is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen), the restaurants on the island were amazing, the drinks at Wreck Bar were to die for. The Cayman people are some of the friendlier, kindest people we have ever come across. We loved Rum Point so much that I actually cried (how embarrassing) when we drove away from Cloud Nine. I really can not say enough good things about the Cayman Islands, Rum Point specifically. As for Cloud Nine, it is a BEAUTIFULLY decorated home. We loved cooking on the grill everyday and eating on the Lanai overlooking the magical bioluminescent bay. Surprisingly I much preferred being on the bay rather then directly on the ocean (which is only a mere 50 feet away!). We loved going kayaking every night in the bay as the oars glowed liked light sabers!!! SO COOL! If we were directly on the ocean we would have not had that luxury, and let me tell you it was a luxury! The kayaks were of great quality also. We never did ride the bikes but it was nice to know they were there if we needed them. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the water pressure and the hot water was NEVER an issue which was great! While there, I was able to see inside of some of the other island houses, and Cloud Nine is the nicest! It definitely exceeded our expectations. We will be back soon!

    A Perfect Vacation

    • Guest Jodi K.

Our stay at Cloud Nine was fabulous. It was our first time to Grand Cayman and we wanted to avoid the crowds. The Rum Point area was the perfect place to do that. Cloud Nine is exactly as shown in the pictures. It was so nice to have kayaks and bicycles to use. We kayaked out in the bioluminescent bay three different nights. What a magical experience! We also enjoyed seeing crabs, fish and jellyfish in the bay. The ocean beach is literally right across the small street. There's a nice store there, plus a casual restaurant and a nice restaurant. The guys in our group did a lot of diving and thought it was phenomenal, especially at the east end of the island. My daughter and I rode horses on the beach and even swam in the ocean with horses through Coral Stone Stables. They were willing to meet us on the beach in Bordentown so we didn't have to drive clear to the West End. It was just the two of us and a guide. The beach at Bordentown was not very clean, but they had warned about that and it did not bother us. It was a great time. Another favorite activity was swimming with the stingrays. We enjoyed riding bikes down to Starfish Point and finding the amazing starfish. Hurley's is a great grocery store. Our favorite restaurants were Over the Edge and Kurt's Kroner. Both were very reasonable with great food. The owner provided quick answers to any questions we had and was very accessible. We would definitely try to stay at Cloud Nine again!

    Wonderful Condo, Location & Owner!

    • Guest World Travelers (St. Louis, MO)

THE CONDO: Exactly as described. The 2 BRs upstairs (1 King in 1st BR; 1 Queen and 1 Twin in 2nd BR), each with full bath were very nice, with plenty of closet space, A/C in each room and both with balconies that overlooked the 2-story screened in patio. Off the LR is a small den with a pullout sofa bed. The 2nd BR accommodated our two daughters and the den worked well for our teenage son. We ate most of our meals on the very large patio that had a large table and 6 chairs. There was also additional patio furniture that made it a very comfortable sitting/reading space. I will also mention that there is a private parking spot right outside the front door that is very convenient. Overall, the condo worked very well for us. THE LOCATION: Perfect! In contrast to 7 Mile Beach, Rum Point is such a quiet & beautiful spot, and this condo is situated perfectly. Step outside the front door, walk across the road (maybe 1 - 2 cars per day) and there you are at Rum Point Beach Club. Or walk out the back, take 10 steps through the sand & you're at a nice swimming pool, & also at shore of the bioluminescent bay. Because of how close the condo is to both the ocean and the bay, we took the kayaks across the street to the ocean, paddled around Rum Point into the bay, and then dragged the kayaks the few feet back to our condo... fun! Do realize, however, that you are at least 10 mins from a small convenience store w/limited items, much farther from a full-service grocery store, and the other side of the island (George Town, 7 Mile Beach) are a good 35-40 minutes away. But so what?!?...At the Beach Club, there's a bar/grill open til 6pm and a restaurant open for dinner after that. The gift shop is nice and has a few convenience items, and Red Sail Sports rents paddleboards, jet skis, etc., plus they'll lend you a volleyball for the court nearby. THE OWNER: Honest, responsive, and helpful! We had an issue with the cable TV box and within 30 minutes of my e-mail, she had responded back with directions to fix the problem. And then, when our return flight home was delayed by a day, she quickly and easily accommodated our additional night's stay. Also, the information she provided about shopping/directions/sights was detailed and helpful. It was an absolute pleasure working with her!

    Purely magical

    • Guest S O.

This was our first visit to the Cayman Islands and it was wonderful. Our stay at Cloud 9 was the best. Adela was very welcoming and full of information. The welcome packet had directions to places of interest, restaurants, and news only a local would know. The condo was very comfortable and fully stocked with everything we needed. We used the kayaks out on the bay several times and it was so much fun. We snorkeled at Rum Point and also several other areas. The underwater sites are amazing. We saw the starfish at starfish beach, we went on the Stingray City tour that leaves right from Rum Point. It was a once in a lifetime experience.. We ate "Upstairs" at Kaibo and at the Rum Point Club and both were fabulous. The outside beach restaurant at Rum Point is also very good for lunch. We would highly recommend this condo to anyone wanting a relaxing and peaceful vacation...no hustle or bustle. We hope to come back again.

    In Heaven At Cloud Nine

    • Guest KELLY S.

Cloud Nine was better than expected! This was the 1st time we rented a house instead of going all inclusive. Prior to our trip Adela sent us information on the island and the house so we were prepared. There were 4 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of room in house where we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. When we arrived we were in awe! The house was clean, bright, and inviting. Besides food, beverages, and a few paper products the house had everything we needed and more. When we had some down time at the house the kids kept busy on the kayaks, playing in the sand, watching movies, and playing on the Wii, all which were supplied. I would definitely recommend the Cloud Nine Property. Some of our favorites: Over The Edge which had excellent food at reasonable prices, Star Fish Point is a great spot to watch the sun set, and of course the Mudslide's from Rum Point. Thank you Adela and family for sharing your home away from home with us! We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

The best vacation home we have stayed in!

    • Guest Ryan (Saskatoon, Canada)

We stayed at "Cloud 9" at Rum Point for three days in February. We have traveled to over 60 countries and have stayed in some of the best places in the world. We also like to "rough it" by sleeping in jungles and staying in hostels. For this vacation, we wanted to relax on one of the nicest beaches we have been to. Cloud 9 allowed us to do that. We were pleasantly surprised at how perfect the place was for us. We are a couple in our early 40s with a two year old. The two bedrooms upstairs, complete with full baths off of each, were perfect for us. Both bedrooms had balconies overlooking the screened-in patio below and had a view of the bioluminicient bay which was about 20 meters away from us. The main floor had a great kitchen where we cooked breakfast and supper each day. It also had a laundry room, another bathroom and two living areas, one geared for kids. What we liked the most though, was the huge patio doors that opened up into an screened in porch. When we were inside, we felt like we were outside, which was perfect for us, and our daughter who could roam around the outside patio without us having to worry about her. We spent more time on the patio than inside as it was nicely furnished and had table to eat at. The owners were great to work with from the beginning. Adela was easy to get a hold of and always got back to us quickly with questions. The house is well-stocked, and very clean. The photos do not do this home justice as it is much nicer in person. The kayaks were a great touch, there are bikes there that we never had a chance to use. You are 30 steps away from Rum Point and the beach there. And the pool was a great alternative. We would definitely stay there again as it is the perfect location to get away from the pace in Georgetown.
